South India's Chithra chechi alias "KS Chitra" celebrates her 57th birthday today. No matter how long you listen to, the songs get sweeter with her birthdays.
Chitra made her debut with MG Radhakrishnan's movie Attahasam,
She became so popular after her debut in the Tamil industry with Ilayaraja in the movie nee thane annakuyil, She has sung over 15,000 songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Oriya, Assamese, and Bengali.

Chitra received her first national award for the song padariye padipariye in the movie sindhubairavi in the year 1983. She received her second national award in the year 1987 for her Malayalam song manjal prasadavum in the movie nagakshathangal and third national award in 1989 for the song in Vaishali.

She is also a recipient of 36 different state film awards and six national film awards.
